About The Program
InSinkErator is cooperating with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in a voluntary Recall to Repair Program for certain instant hot water dispensers made between 1972 and 1996. If your dispenser is involved in this program you will receive a repair kit free of charge.

   Use this site to:

     • Register to receive a free repair kit if your unit is involved

Situation
If water leaks from the metal holding tank within the affected units, it can wet the insulating material and this could lead to electrical arcing and heat build-up within the dispenser. This could create a fire. Three (3) reports have been received of units with this condition, one report involved a kitchen fire that caused nearly $7,000 in property damage (as of June 27th, 2002 when this site was launched). [confirm wording ties to final press release and confirm date].

When InSinkErator became aware of the potential problem posed by this situation, we immediately alerted the CPSC and began working in the best interests of consumer safety.
